Emachines 466i Etower not working

Hey...

A little while back while trying to set-up this older emachine Etower 446i, It was zapped by a storm. I just fired it up for the first time since this incident and now it wont stay running more than 30seconds. I swapped the power supply, cleared cmos, reformatted, and added 98se, and also changed the cpu fan.

Any help would be great!!!

Truckie

look at the motherboard and see if the any of the capacitors are bulged on the top...if so, they need replacing and then hopefully nothing else on the board is fried, lol.

Maybe your power switch is crapped.

If it was really hit by lightning, just throw it away. There's no telling what got fried and if you put money into it, you'll find you're eventually going to put in more than what it's worth.

You could always put the guts of a Mac in it, you'd have the first . . . eMac
