Dual Head Card AGP

Hi,

After surfing the net for a while and reading through posts here, I have still not been able to find the kind of card I want, so I am posting here for your help...

So, this is what I need:

- Dual head AGP (The PC has a 4x slot)
- 2x VGA outputs (with 2 identical monitors with only the d-sub vga style plugs, getting the quality to look the same is a great bonus, I think that with 1 DVI and 1 VGA the DVI will look better and I don't want them to look odd together)
- If possible, 128Mb RAM
- Available in the UK

Thanks,
Koal

The only dual w/VGA I know of is a Matrox G450 or G550. They only have 32MB RAM though.

I don't think you'd notice the difference between the DVI and VGA though.

actually the 9500 up will have both DVI and VGA which before you say thats not what I want, they (or at least both of mine) came with adapters to go DVI>VGA so its just like 2x VGA ports. No diff in quality from what I've heard.

DVI-to-VGA plugs don't actually use the digital signal, it's still plain old analog VGA. So this is no hint for better or worse quality. Besides, noone makes VGA+VGA configured cards anymore - for exactly that reason.

There are zillions of card models with a DVI-I plus VGA configuration. Just pick one. Just make sure the DVI-VGA adapter is included in the retail box.

Alot of R 8500's go for that price. Some of those were duel head. SOme werent. Its noted if it is though. All the duel head really means is like peter said it can display VGA (crt) or dvi (L.C.D. and plasma)from dvi port at the same time as using the vga output. My single head Radeon 8500, while it has the DVI and vga +svideo it can only display tv and one mon at a time. LOTS of nvidia's are like this too-two ports but only one displays at a time..... So just cause it has a DVI port dont mean your set to go. Just watch that. For it to do both mon's at same time it takes the duel ramdac so it can independently refresh each mon..
