Radeon 9800NP shows up in device manager as 9800 PRO. To whom do I complain?

Hi all,

I just got my Dell Dementia 4600 from the last weeks killer deal. I didn't even boot it up before putting the included Radeon 9800NP into my 2.8 Poweredge 400SC "server", where in win2000, running the ATI catalyst version 3.9, it shows as a 9800 PRO!!!

Is this common, or could this have been a return card that someone already flashed (to make it a PRO)? Might Dell have run so low on the 9800NP (many people hit this deal) that the PRO was substituted?

Thanks in advance.

-LC

The NP's shows up as a PRO's. They do this right from the factory.
Why would you have a problem with getting a pro when you paid for a NP anyway?

I believe that is called sarcasm

you can also use Omegadrive's drivers which include a software patch for a couple of different cards to make them perform as Pro's.
