Never heard of any software for that, but if it exists, it'd be pricey, and might require special hardware decoders I reckon.

TV signals ain't in the right format to broadcast over a LAN, so it'd have to be decoded, recoded in a LAN - friendly format, then sent and decoded at each LAN station. Would need really fast PC's for that, too. And wouldn't be exact real time, either, as you'd get lag from all the decoding etc.

I could be wrong, though, as I dunno that much about video feeds.

Cheers
Mick

I have always wanted to do that. But from my hours of googling I have found no such thing.

great find, video lan, and free too!

I don't mean to walk over your thread, but I've been having trouble watching DVD's on my pc because of nvidia drivers and macrovision, and wondered if I could send it from my DVD player to my LAN, or directly to one PC

thanx

Wow, nice find, U_S!!

And the best part is the price!!

Doesn't support all formats, and only Haupage capture cards are supported for streaming TV by the looks, but it does quite a bit of stuff. Surprising really. Much better Linux support than for winders, too. Open source rocks!!

Cheers
Mick
