9800 np or what?

... just installed a ATI Radeon 9600 and it works great, but I'm not sure why (maybe someone can explain)... it shows up on everthing (PC Mark '02, XP and Sandra) as a 9600 pro.

I looked at a picture of a 9600 pro, not at all like mine, it's got a fan! Also looked at a ATI 9600, it doesn't look like mine either, but it had 64k, mine has 128k. Maybe that why it registers as a "pro".

Did you happen to get this at Best Buy?

... grabbed the second to the last one off the shelf. $69 for the card was perfect, but an hour and a half to get out!! don't know if it was worth it. of course, what else did I have to do at 5:00 am.

I spent 10 minutes getting out of fry's .(I guess 30 cash registers helps the flow).

It took my brother about 45min because they didn't like the 800 dollar check.

my 9800 np does the same thing. I'm thinking of modding it to a 9800 PRO just so it doesn't have this identity crisis. Actually windows and everything thinks its a 9800 no matter what I try to do. Maybe an ATI bug??

Didn't check system proporties but the one I got OC'ed to 426/524 and runs LIKE a Pro at that speed. I have a blowhole on the side and keeps it nice and cool
