divx to mpeg?????

im tryng to convert divx movies into a format to copy to dvd so that it can be played on normal dvd players. im having no luck so far. could someone please help. i have nero 6 and dont really want to have to pay for anymore software although i am willing to download any free software. please help me.

tmpgenc can do it i believe. Check the guides at www.doom9.org

yep TMPGenc is my choice but if you want something thats directly for it goto the DivX site and try out Dr. Divx

Do you want to convert to mpeg1 or mpeg2?

It should be as easy as using TMPGEnc to do the conversion and then Nero to burn the disc.

If you need them, here's a bunch of "how to guides" that may or may not help you depending on exactly what you want to do.

Yes it is free. And the mpeg-2 feature is free for 30 days (unless you were to get a copy of version 1.2a or earlier then the mpeg-2 feature is free with no time limit )
