Help w/ Radeon 9800 np too...

First off, I downloaded the Omega drivers for Windows XP and installed them. There was a list to change stuff in the BIOS, can you change BIOS for the video card? I couldn't find lots of them but I know some only work with some mobos.

Second, I can't change the AGP to 8x, I change it to 8x in the ATI Control Panel, and then it restarts. But when I restart it is still at 4x for some reason.

Third, this isn't a SE so where can I found out about soft modding this into a Pro, and is there hazards with softmodding?

There are always hazards when messing with the card. Try changing to 8x agp in the BIOS, instead of through the control panel.

8x over 4x is 5% gain. Not worth the asprin you'll need most times to get it working. If it does great-if it dont, your waisting your time really. Must be set to 8x in bios regardless of ati app. ATI just TESTS it then sets it to stable settings in windows. If its off in bios-its off, no matter what a app tries to do about it. Thats needed to be set before OS even boots up.

I have a LanParty NFII Ultra and I couldn't find it in there. Does anyone with one of these no where it is. I'm 99% sure it uses 8x too.

My Aquamark3 score was only 17k is this good? Also, I went to ATI.com to find out about what the clock and memory speeds should be and my gpu was a little less and my memory was very different. Here is what ATI has for a Radeon 9800, 325/580. Now here is what mine is at in the control panel, 324/290.25. It looks like my memory is severly underclocked!! Should I change it to 580? That seems like a very big underclock!

BTW would 290.25 memory speed, be on reason my scores are slow?
