wifi encryption question

ok, now i got the wifi card installed and now we have another problem, the card was installed on the same laptop but my step-dad upgraded it from me to win2k. he can't remember the encryption pass-phrase, how do we dis-able the pass-phrase and the encryption? thanx for the help.

Is this an ad-hoc network or do you have a WAP? If a WAP, then consult the manual or at least tell us the make/model. If ad-hoc, then open the wireless NIC properties or use the Client manager software to find the setting.
