Problems with Log in Screens..

Dear users,

If this description strikes a cord with anyone here, or if any user may know of a way to solve my problem, pls post or pm me, as I am at a loss.

I recently had a few problems accessing the net. and couldn't reslove the issue myself, so sent my P.C. to a pro to get it done - which they did.

Only, when I got the PC back, I noticed a few differences - i.e. my E-gold and Hotmail accounts.

I can get to E-Gold's home page fine, but when I click on the 'access your account' link, or any other link, it results in a..

'Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer '

...as though it's to do with the security settings or something simular?!

With Hotmail, I arrived at the site fine, as with E-Gold, but that also resulted in a DNS error screen.

It seems to be some setting the PC people have changed to do with log ins or site extensions, as I can reach these sites, but not pages within them!

If anyone has had any simular problems, or has any ideas, i'd be most grateful.

Thanks for reading

Keira

hello,

i would just check your IE settings to see if anything got changed like the security settings and other things along that line. or maybe you could just call up the person that fixed your pc and see what he or she did to cause that problem.

HTH,

reformatt

had a problem like that before. Never took the time to fix it. I suggest just to reformat the drive and reinstall!!! If you dont have your XP Cd there is a program that will show you your product key. Write it down then borrow a friend's CD (HAS TO BE SAME VERSION THAT MEANS IF YOU HAVE PRO BORROW PRO!!)and reinstall using your key. activate and reinstall all apps
