i had to replace a burnt out processor, but now my computer seems to run slower... i did have an amd athlon 2100XP, and now i have an amd athlon 2200xp...... how do i make it as fast as it used to be.. also i seem to be getting errors now after i installed that processor.. should i check any settings in bios or anything??
We need more information. What're your thermals like? If you somehow managed to get an old T-bred "A" core, that 2200+ could be running at near-nuclear temperatures. What sort of errors are you getting?

did u ever increase voltage, maybe it did some damage to the board? Yea and as was said before, try reformatting, OH and one more thing, flash the bios maybe it doesnt really know what its running.
It's possible that your mobo defaulted to 100 fsb so look in the bios to see if it can be changed back to 133 fsb. Another thing is if your old cpu's a palomino and the new one is tbred then the mobo may not accept the tbred very kindly. We need to know what's the mobo is and what chipset. A bios upgrade may be all you need (hopefully).
