Changing cable configuration on RAID

Hi,

I have a raid0 with two drives on one ide cable (master and slave). I'm wondering if it would be a problem to make both drives masters and connect them to seperate ports on my raid controller.

well I have always ran my RAID 0 Setup with each Hard drive on a Master connection when possible. I think as long as the RAID card still sees each hard drive as DISK 0 and DISK 1 in the same order it would be ok but you never know till you try. I dont think trying will loose your data either. Mostl likely it will come up saying Raid array not functional... I have accidently put in my hdds in the wrong order before and I got that msg and when I put em back in the right order everything was ok again. But of course I have to say Im not responsable for any lost data.

This depends on your controller. Some will recognise the array members correctly and move on without a blink, and some will see a broken array.
