9700PRO or 9600XT

ive been looking at video card and im probably gonna get the 9600xt over the 9700 pro, here are my reasons one, 40 to 100 dollars less, free game, and easier to find but thats not really a reason.but i know that the 9700 pro is technically better by 10 to 30 fps more than the 9600xt in most cases but i dont really notice a difference in picture quality.should i go for the 9600xt or spend a lil extra to get just a lil' bit more performance of the 9700pro, please lend me your 2 cents.

Both are good options, but if you have the expendable money, go for a BBA 9700 pro. If money is a concern, then get the 9600. 9600 are the best video card out there for the buck. Its a good investment, however, if you can hold off, i'd wait till HL2 and Q3 come out. By that time, ATI and nVidia will probably have their new silicon out, so you can get these either cheaper, or you can get some better stuff for the same $$.

NO CONTEST. 9700pro eats the 9600xt even if you took powerstrip and underclocked the bejesus out of the 9700pro.

dollar for dollar, the best videocard i believe is not the 9700pro nor is it the 9600xt or pro. i believe that the best videocard for the dollard is the 9800non-pro. it can be had at bestbuy for 249.99 (or circuitcity). it is as fast as the 9700pro in dx8 benchmarks and beats it with the newer dx9 games.

well i went ahead and bought the 9700pro, i saw some benchmarks between the 9600xt and 9700pro and dang the 9700pro kicked its a**, i bought the only one i could find for a dang good price newegg.com sapphire atlantis version for $245. w/ no shipping. so i went with it plus theres not really that big of a difference between the 9700pro and 9800pro i think by like 10%,so i think i went with a good one, plus i was wondering why the core clock speeds of the 9700pro is 325 compared to the 9600xt's 500, yet the 9700pro totaly kicks the living crap outta it?

9700 Pro's 8 rendering pipelines and 256-bit memory vs. the 9600XT's 4 pipelines and 128-bit memory

Dunno. Got the 9800 non pro at newegg for $250 shipped. And it beats the 9700pro by a bit in high res and aa/af and runs cooler at same time....9800 core has a "few" dx9 enhancments over the 9700pro. If they are out of NP's then yes it was a good deal.
