Flashing Bios

Howdy Everyone,

Been a long time since I flashed a bios anyways, I need to flash my kid's computer as its having some issues and need to have them resolved and in the release notes it appears it will fix the problems im having.

Anyways, I have everything downloaded and all and what im wondering is directions for flashing.

Are all flashing directions the same, meaning its not specific from board to board.

Just reboot to cmd and run floppy?

So just want to make sure got all my ducks in a row before i go flashing.

As far as I know but I always look at the boards maufactures site to double check.
The biggest thing that i've been finding lately is the requirement of a specific version of the flash software. Don't know why this a big deal but I use the recommended flash version anyhow.

okay now im having major problems.

I am trying to go through the recovering thingy.

ftp://download.intel.com/support/mot...EA_ENGLISH.PDF

and it says to remove the jumper from J7B1 which is a three pin thingy, well I see J7B1 however it only has 2 pins and there is no jumper on it.

Also when i tried to redo it from dos mode it kept telling me disk is full can not finsish and sticks me back to the a prompt. i have my bootable bois disk.

Well I don't know what im doing now. Im pretty frusterate. I don't think it even flashed at all. Which would be a good thing. I tried again and again and kept telling me disk is full for the bios thingy. I don't know why its doing that.

So it couldn't read C: drive anymore kept saying invalid drive specification............ So i rebooted with another boot disk and fdisked and then now im formating and i'll put everything onto the C: drive and flash from there I guess???? I don't know.

These flashing directions don't work right expecially with the floppy.

however my bois shows a different bios version now.
