Linux Extraction Problem

I'm a linux n00b and like most of them, I want to install a CS server. I got the file downloaded, got it chmod'ed and accepted the EULA. Then I get the following

extracting /usr/steam/hlds_l_1120_full.tgz...
hlds_1_1120_full.bin: error extracting payload, No such file or directory

Any help will be appreciated...

you need to do this
tar -zxf hlds_l_1120_full.tgz

that will great the directory then extract the file. Cheers!

Okily Dokily - I finally figured that one out - now on to the next problem.

When I run the server it says It can't allocate port 27015 for the dedicated server use, as if it's already in use. I do (I think) have the ports forwarded to that computer on my D-Link DI-604 router, i'm pretty sure. Is there something I may be missing?

Fatal_Error Couldn't allocate dedicated server IP port 27015. Add -debug blah blah....

Is exactly the message it gives me when I try to run the server.
