I have a K7S5A w/an XP1800+, GeForce2 Ti, Aureal Vortex sound, using the on-board SIS900 LAN adapter, running Win98 FE. I had installed a RAM drive some weeks ago and shortly after that I started having major OS problems. I figured I had just about everything repaired but then a few weeks ago the OS would stop at the spalsh screen on a warm boot causing me to always have to hit the reset button. At about this same time I wasn't able to access the printer attached to this computer over the LAN. As a matter of fact none of the other computers can see this computer anymore in Network Neighborhood. I have a feeling that the splash screen and networking problems are related but I need opinions on what Windows components I should uninstall and reinstall. Since I use IPX/SPX for my LAN - and have for years with no problems - I've un-installed and re-installed it but that has not helped. I've uninstalled and re-installed the LAN adapter also with no luck. Pinginf another computer on the LAN works fine with 0 packet loss and I have Internet access so TCP/IP is fine. I've checked and re-checked all my network properties settings and they all look fine. I'm at a total loss as to why this is happening. Any suggestions or clues mucho apprecianado.
