Food external sound card to notebook

Dear friends,

I own an internal soundcard VIA in my laptop, which does not work properly with Windows Netmeeting and MSN Messenger. Basically, the problem is, that when I try to have a voice conversation with the above programs, my sound goes soon out of order and then I can also not hear anything at all, until I restart...
I have shown in http://store.pcpowerzone.com/crlausbsompe.html the external sound card: Creative Labs USB SOUNDBLASTER MP3+ EXTERNAL Sound Card System w/ CMSS. I am wondering if this will be completely compatible with Windows Netmeeting and MSN Messenger.

The characteristics of my notebook are:
Acer Aspire 1300 (1302XC)
AMD Athlon XP 1600+
256B SDRAM
Op. System: Win XP Prof. English

Please help!!
Thanks!

Are you sure you have the program configured right and the proper soundcard drivers installed? Have you checked with Acer's website or asked their tech support for help? It may be an anomolie they are familiar with.

Hello my friend.
I have installed the newest drivers for audio and 3 times new installation of winxp (original version). In Acer's page there is no such a tech support for this, but only some tel numbers for help. I phoned and they said to me to install the newer drivers of the modem. I had already done it and nothing better... After that they told me to update my bios perhaps... they were also not sure. But I do not do anything with my bios, it is very dangerous!
What is your advise? I found an external sound card "extern USB Creative MP3" with 48 Euro. Should I buy it?

Thank you in advance,
Harakorinos
