windows update Directory

Can someone help me out here i have been lookin for the windows update folder in the Windows Dir at the root of C: so that i can back it up but cant seem to find it, my OS is WinXP home any help much appreciated

Edit- can someone please let me now the name of the windows update Dir, so that i can go and look for it myself,

tried here, but there is no such file to back up, can someone please help, its so that i can back up all my windows updates before i format my HD, so i dont have to install all the updates once ive formated

I don't think updates go into one folder inside the Windows directory, I think they just are "integrated" into what's already there.

There's a WUTemp folder in the root of C:\. If you want to download and save your Windows updates, go to the corporate windowsupdate site, and choose what you want.

seen that folder at the root, and before i formated the last time the updates were in there but cant remember if i stated for them to go there , so i should - 1.backup windows Dir, 2.format HD, 3.install windows again, then use backup of windows for the updates so i dont have to go to micro$oft for the updates again
