win2k and WinXP network problem with Diablo

Hello Everyone,

I need some help please.

Two PCs, one running Win2000 Pro, and the second one is running Win XP home. They both can see each other. Ping works both direction. They can access shared folders and share printer. Therefore, I think there is no problem with the hardware or the link.

However, I was unable to get Diablo to network between the two computers, but I did get Starcraft to work partly... gameplay is fine, but there is only music but no voice or sound effects. Do you have any ideas for troublshooting?

BTW, both TCP and IPX are installed on both machine.

do you have the latest update for diablo installed?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I do have the latest version. Both system were working fine until I upgraded one system from Win98 to Win2000.
