Five pins, eh?
Normally a pot has three--the center one is the wiper lead, the outer two are fixed, and the resistance between the wiper lead and either outer lead will vary as you turn the shaft--the difference is which direction it varies.
Six leads is reasonable for a dual gang pot (usually audio taper). For example

If you need five leads I'm guessing you need one with a SPST switch included. But I'm guessing.
You haven't specified enough info to look up in a catalog and give you a specific part number.
