Problem with Nvidia video drivers

I have a Asus A7V266 with the all in one setup. (you know I need no cards) It has a onboard video that workes good with only one problem. when I install the video driver from Nvidia the monitor becomes confused. During boot the screen is pushed over to the right and after win98 is running I have to adjust it back to the left and when I start a game I hav to adjust it right left and up and down. Right now I am using atandard pci grafice adapter. cool only 640x480 with 16 colors. are there any other drivers I might get to work?

I'm guessing this is not only a problen with me

After installing the driver, did you then ensure that device manager listed the model of monitor you are using? It may need to be redetected or specified.

The monitor was set up before I added the drivers. This time I tried drivers for the nvidia video card instead of the system drivers, but they must be the same. same effect.

Understand, but sometimes on some OS's, upon installation of video drivers, the display type gets reset and it needs to either be re-detected or setup manually.

What I would do is uninstall whatever drivers you might be able to through add/remove progams. Then I would manually change the video display adapter type to standard VGA.

I would then power down, and install the graphics card you want to use. If its the onboard one, thats fine, then just remove the PCI video card.

Next I would power up the machine. It will come up using the standard VGA display adapter, and is likely to look pretty bad. If the system detects the new video adapter you are using, let it install the drivers you specify. If it doesn't auto detect it, you'll have to install them manually.

Once that is done, go into device manager and specify the type and model of Monitor you are using.

Reboot if necessary and see if that cures the problem for you.
