Kids DVD Media. What to get?

I just got a new PC and it has a DVD+/-RW drive. I'm unfamiliar with DVD media, so if any of you could help , that would be great. I'm leary of the cheap generic DVD media as I've had problems with chepa generic CD media. I'd like to know what is best for data backup and what is best for DVD movie writing. Thanks in advance.

I prefer TDK -Rs. You can get them at BestBuy for $2 each. Fuji supposedly makes good media too. For something cheaper Riteks work OK for about $1 each.

The DVD drive manufacturer website might include a list of compatible media to accomplish the tasks you listed. You could also check a site like http://club.cdfreaks.com/ to obtain opinions on media used on the same model drive you have.

I personally like FujiFilm for CDs and DVDs Love em. I use -R cause Ive read that they have the most compatibility with Box top players which is a must www.dvdrhelp.com can help you make up your mind if you want The best back up solution is probably DVD-RAM cause of its data checking methods and what not but I dont think its worth a second burner. I would suggest using a RW of your choice so you can modify the disk as you go along and format it and start over as you want

You might be refering to my post with the -R. After I re read it after posting I fixed it... maybe I didnt get it fast enough but it was about 2 seconds after... maybe that cache BS? I dunno... but I use -R for all my work Looking at my edit time and your post time looks like it was the caching BS.
