Bios trouble for Intel VC820

I have a PC which Im trying to get goin for a friend. It kept crashing on them so I reformatted the HD and loaded Win98. Next time I tried to start it, it won't go. I can't even access the BIOS. Any suggestions or experience with this type problem on this MB?

Was it by any chance a Compaq? Cuz they sometimes had the bios on a small partition on the hard drive...other than that its hard to see how formatting would affect the bios.

Nopenot a compaq, its actually an Ultra ......... but once i formatted the drive the op sys loaded fine and started fine. I shut the system off and 2 days later this is what happened.

ahhh...either way has nothing to do with the format I dont think.

What is it doing, any noises or lights when you hit power button??

If not youll have to strip it down to just motherboard, cpu/heatsink video card, one stick of ram..pull all the ide cables and pci cards out etc
A pain but thats the only way to narrow it down
