CRC error

I receive an error every time i try and install anything off of a CD. Im trying to install RAVENSHIELD and Final Fantasy 11. I just recently replaced my Mother board and reinstalled Windows on a new 80 gig hd. THE ONLY game that will install is CALL OF DUTY. I have tried to reinstall windows and tried other games..like i said the only one that would install is COD...any ideas on how to fix this?

did you download this game or is this a retail verison of the game?


if its retail return it to the store to get a replacement copy. if its downloaded we do not support downloaded games.

Just fixed the same problem last week. Yep, naughty bad RAM. The link above'll let you double check. If you've got more than one memory stick, try them one at a time. That'll let you isolate it.

its a retail version of the game...ok since its bad ram let me to try and get another stick....i only have 1 stick..so well c...will post here if that fixes it

ok i just replaced the memory...still havin the same prob....could it b a bad motherboard\processor?

Possible the slot. Did you run memtest86?

Extract it to a boot floppy and run it from DOS.

ok it was a bad memory stick...prob number 2....i have a nvidia ultra 256 video card..for some reason its being detected as a PCI card...instead of a AGP..i have gone into the bios and made sure it was set to AGP....but its still seen as PCI...and wont take advantage of the 8x AGP..any ideas?
