Get DVD2SVCD. It will do everything for you. Copy movie and break it into disks. On average most movies are 2 Disks. Fast and you just hit go ... and its free... only thing I see wrong is that you want VCD and this makes SVCD... but SVCD is much better if you are willing to use it.

Sounds like "operator error". And you need to clean up the language.

Well not sure what happened in your case but in the past year or so of using it Ive never had the problem with my Hard Drives... I did however forget to warn you about Hard drive size... I figured you would realize that a 8GB movie would take up a bit of space as well as its converted format... My bad... if you want to save on the Hard drive space use DVD Shrink to rip your DVD to your Hard Drive and use compression to the level you see fit... then run it through a VCD encoder... it will be a even bigger loss in quality but at least you wont loose your space... Just so you know... If you really want to copy a DVD movie Keep ~20GB of space open... if you want to do some crazy stuff like custom menus and what not... Id keep 30GB.
