At Home computer will not boot

I have 3 working motherboards.that work in another case just fine.I put them into a gateway 2000 case and they will not boot. The boards are a celeron 333 and the other two are pentium 2's at 333.I get a black screen. The harddrive comes on and statrs the boot then stops.

Might check the power supply in the other case by putting the one from the working case in it, that's where I would start.

The probable problem is the Gateway power supply and case are proprietary. That is, they have a unique connection system. The connectors may be universal, but the wires are probably in a different than universal order.

Be sure there is no metal object like an extra stand off behind the motherboard(s) shorting out some of the traces.
