Kazaa Q
Hey I have Kazaa lite. I use it occasionally but for the most part i don't have it running, just when I need a song real quik then i get off. Anyways I have about 900 songs, not all downloaded though, can i still get in trouble just for having Kazaa on my computer or do I have to be sharing them at like all times?? Also I have eDonkey and I download stuff from there. R they watching like eDonkey etc. too?? TY

They are watching all of the popular file-sharing programs. I used to have a list lying around somewhere. I will try and find it for you.
The software is legal to have, just can't let others have access to your files.

They only seem to be concerned with shared files. If your not sharing them, they are not visable for RIAA to find them. I'm not sure if they are monitoring other P to P programs, but it's a reasonble thought that they are. |

i would move the files out of your shared folder as you get them. I cant garentee that will help, but it is a start. Also i belive not having it on all the time would help too.
The question is, how do they know how to find you using that? can they get that from your IP? wouldnt it be a burdon on your ISP if they had to look up a dynamic ip to find somebody?
i guess it doesnt matter really, all i can say is i hate the RIAA..imean yes its unfair to download music..but how fair is it how much of the pirce of the cd the artist actually gets, and how much the record company gets?
...just something to think about.

What if I just changed the name of the folder?? From My Shared Folder to like music, then made a new My Shared Folder...would that work instead of moving all of my files??

No need to move your files. If that folder is not shared, the files are not visable to the other users. |

I'm sure it will work. There's just no need for it if your don't share it. |
