9800XT Benchmark

Heyas, my cousin just brought a whole new system, these are the specs:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
AMD 3200+ 400fsb
512 Kingston 400mhz (PC3200) He put in 1024 but it kept crashing
Powercolor 256mb Radeon 9800XT
160 gig Seagate SATA150 HDD
Windows XP Pro

Thats the main guts of it.
We ran 3Dmark 2001 (non SE)

He scored 13300 3D marks

I thought that this was a little low for the power that this system has. Is it because he has used the non SE version?

Any help and ideas would be great,

PastranA

Yeah, it should help using the SE version. Make sure you have vsync disabled.

What do you mean by non SE version?

Also check out if 3dmark or in your ATI Control Panel drivers that AA/AF aren't turned on as it can lower your 3dmarks.

As in "Second Edition" poopyhed.

Also, d/l 3d2k3 if you can, those marks are more important than the 2k1 marks.

That score is very respectable. Don't forget, if you don't restart the computer before benchmarking then the scores would be very low since you gotta clear out every process that you brought up yourself by running a program, etc.

That is a very nice 3DMark2003 score, I'm a little under it.

I got 6090 with the following:

Asus A7N8X
XP3000+ @ 2400Mhz
768Mb PC3200 cl2.5
Radeon 9800 NP @ 425/350
WD 120Gb AT133 7200rpm

I've noticed that the score will improve best when upping the core speed of the card.
For some reason upping the memory speed doesn't make all that much of a difference.
