DVD only shows 127mb!

I have a fairly new (about 3 months old) DVD drive and it has just today begun to complain that all cds i put into it are 127mb! ! This is extremely annoying because it means i cant play games etc etc.

PLEASE I NEED A RESPONCE!

What brand of DVD drive is it and is it a DVD-rom or writer?
Did you install any new software before this started happening?
I've not run into this before, but you could start by checking the manufacturers website for a firmware update.

Its an Asus and it was when i tried to install UT when it started happenin. Ill try an update now

I think i have a dodgy motherboard - or i need to reinstall windows (which can be a bit of a bugger). My hard drives arent showing up in windows system. Should i be worried about that?

Yes-I'd be pretty concerned if it were me (If my computer won't report what it has and I don't have complete access to it,I get a BIT bent out of shape-guess I'm funny that way)...
