Lucent (now Agere) and MoH ?'s
i use an old IBM Lucent 1641b modem...as far as upgradability and connectivity, i couldn't ask for a better modem, IMO.
i have the latest vxd's from Agere, and modem diagnostics (98SE) returns a "V.92" response.
i have researched V.92 and Modem-on-Hold all over the place, and still have a coupla nagging questions.
i have dial-up privelidges on my room-mates' phone line (i pay the $7 fee for "call waiting" feature) and i need the modem to hang up when a call-waiting event occurs, or when my room-mate picks up his handset. right now i simply use the ATM2 command and monitor the speaker, then disconnect manually. this works fine, but i think i can do better still.
i am looking to learn which commands affect hanging up during a call waiting event OR setting the proper levels of sensitivity concerning a drop in service, such as what occurs when the handset is picked up. the modem suffers a temporary drop but, doggone it, this V.92 Standard is so good the connection is restored no matter what i've tried up to now.
i've run into a lot of vagarities and dead-ends all over the web and need some definitive info...any takers?
