Charge.com or Paypal

we need an online merchant account to handle our membership and subscriptions.

I am looking for the best deal out there... Paypal or Charge.com ??

No experience from the sellers side but have used Paypal from the buyers side. Paypal has a more recognizable name which may be something to consider

Paypal is a good service, but if you need to accept credit card payments, they charge you for every transaction once you upgrade to business account.

i use paypal to collect donations for my clan.....surcharges can be a pain in the ass, but like someone else said, the name is a big thing, pluse more people have paypal, or at least from what i have seen.

EDIT: I see that charge.com is only for credit carsds. If they don't charge your customers a fee, which it doesnt appear that they do, you may want to consider that instead.

It seems like everyone charges when you get a merchant account

their surcharge is only 25 cents, that is a pretty good rate compared to paypal which i usually get hit with a .49-.68 surcharge
