Systems pc chips motherboard help

I flashed my old SOYO Dragon Plus bios. It was bad and didn't work, so I just bought PC Chips M811LU motherboard from Newegg, thinking it was cheap.

I tried to set it up with no success.

The board came with Clear COMS jumer on, the power even wouldn't turn on. After I set it to normal position, I turned the power on, fans were working, CD-ROM LED were flashing, but no monitors, no keyboard lights, no HDD lights,
basically no POST.

Another problem is that there is a MSG LED connection (2 pins)
on PANEL1 (front panel signal connections). Anyone knows what it is for? I guess it might be power LED connecton, but mine power LED connection has 3 pins.

CPU: Athlon XP 1600+
Memory: 2 * 215 MB DDR 2100

Thanks in advance.

use only one stick of memory at a time to set it up... PCChips and ECS are both known to be a bit fussy about memory... If one doesnt work swap it with the other. Clear CMos and try again.
Dont worry about any panel connections accept the power switch.
None are needed accept that one to set up.
if that doesnt help... unplug EVERYTHING accept the CPU, HSF, (make sure thye HSF fan is plugged into the right spot on Mobo), 1 stick memory, Video card, Hard drive, and front power switch.
Good Luck, it can be frustrating

OK, so you've already made and corrected the #1 mistake

You do have the RAM firmly seated (the slots are TIGHT!), the AGP card inserted all the way, the board well aligned onto its mounting bolts without shorting things out, and the CPU fan connected to the CPU fan header?

MSG LED is where you connect your case "power" LED indeed. If your case still follows the old 3-pin connector model, you can either cut that connector in two and connect the single strands, or peel one of the contacts out and insert it back into the middle position.
