How often do you format your hard drive?

I'm thinking about once a year

Twice a year is a good number. Cleans out the muck, loads a squeeky clean windows and then you can spend endless hours tweaking it and loading applications......

How about make two partitions. One partition is dedicated for operating system and the other one is for applications

Used to do it about every 4-6 months w/ W98. XP has been a dream... Never had to reinstall since it came out. Still rock solid and I beat on it pretty well.

I normally install Windows 2000 once a year. Unless i'm messing with something and screw it up which happens every now and then. Thats why I now have an image of my system partition.

I do it prolly every 5-6 months, depends how clogged it feels like its getting (win xp pro). I just keep all my data on a seperate partition so reinstalling OS isnt a huge issue

2 times a year for me, unless it is real bad. Always the best. I will do a power clean also, (low level format) just to really wipe it clean
