Food Is there a better Way to Cool?

I'm in the process of gathering info to build a new 'puter and find that most items I'm buying have some sort of fan. The case has 3 fans and room for 3 more. The cpu has it's own fan as does the video card. Then there's the psu, it has two fans.

How many fans are we up to now.... seven fans? I'm worried that when I turn this thing on I'll crate a huge vortex and be sucked in along with he rest of the family!

Anyway, is there a better way now or is there anything in the future that someones heard of to make these high tech 'puter fan free.

There ya go. Get a nice water cooling kit and your baby will be quieter than those stupid fans. Saving my pennies for a kit.

it seems you have four options... listen to the jet plane under your desk, control the speeds of the fan with either temp probes or fan controller (what i use), spend a little chunk of change to replace the fans with quiet ones, or shell out some bucks to get a watercooling system

those are in order of cheapest to most expensive
they are also in order of loudest to quietest

you pick how much money you want to spend, and we can help you from there

I don't think you'll ever be "fan free". Even water-cooled systems rely on a fan to cool water at the radiator, and air flow is critical in keeping the motherboard,HDD,and PSU cool. But you can sure do alot to reduce the noise of the fans you have. First off, your case has three fans? If you're not having any problems with heat, you may not need all of them. You can monitor your temps after disconnecting one or two and see if there is a difference. It's not nearly as much to do with the amount of air being moved as it is the path and consistancy of your air flow. Things such as rounded cables can do as much as adding a new fan.
You can also try to muffle the sound by lining your case with sound-dampening pads, although I couldn't say how effective they are as I've never used them myself.

If you dont need high horsepower you could also use a Via C3 cpu with a passive heatsink, get a Quietpower powersupply and you will hardly hear a thing...
