Systems Help Plz!!!

Hi, i have a serious problem.

I recently got a wireless LAN breezecom brigde with 4port hub builtin. station adaptor. i think 40D. from the ISP locally. its a 1mpbs connection.

link to webpage : http://www.alvarion.com/RunTime/Prod...?tNodeParam=26

1st day. download speeds r fine. 60kb+ but then when i wake up the next morning. The speeds drop. I can only get 10Kb max. download speed. I have inquired @ the isp. and they said it was my computer. so i bought a new one. still the same prob with speed.

Then i decided to change the network card. and speeds were back up. 60Kb+. but then next morning i wake up only to find speed back to 10Kb max. i have changed 10 network cards. which alll worked fine on first day. but then speed dropped. i have tried to recrimp all ways. i shorten the cat5 utp cable. but nothing worked.

Even if i take the network card and put it in another computer. it still has the same bad speed. 10kb max.

I have a 50Metre cable cat5e utp from bridge.
Crimped straight.
Antenna is on roof, 600 metres away from isp.
Signal is high.
Have a P3 733Mhz
Have tried all network cards. d-link/accton/many realtek cards/compex/cnet.
Using windows me now. was on xp(thoght it gave the prob).

Plz assit. since i recentlty got this connection. and i still have time to take it out without paying 2 keep it.

perhaps your power supply or something is overpowering the NIC or something and damaging it? that would explain why it continues to go at 10k in different computers

I'm not a scientist but I do know there is a huge Solar flayer that is passing Earth at this time. Its possible this can interfere with wireless communications. Can you narrow the speed change to exact times. Do you live near transmission lines or something.

The utp cable is clear of any interference, from transmission. but if inference was playing a part in this. then the speeds wld go up/down. not decrease and then stay @ that rate.

P/S - have a 350watt power supply.

What about a direct connection to the internet ( non wireless ). I'd say you've got one of a few things going on...

1. If this happens the same in all computers, at the same times of day, then I'd consider wireless interference from other devices in your area. If the signals are getting fuzzy from radio towers, other wireless devices, higher usage in the neighborhood of wireless devices, you may be getting a slower transfer rate as the wireless hardware compensates for the interferance and has to slow the transfer of date for integrity purposes.

2. High internet use on your neighborhood hub if you are running a cable internet connection. You may just be losing bandwidth due to others coming online and dividing it up.

It's not your computer, it's not your network card(s). 2 computers, various cards should point to that conclusion.

If your ISP is renting you the wireless technology, then I would demand that they come out and find out why their service is so slow. If it is possible however, I'd try a direct Cat5e cable connection from the modem to the computer and see if you have any issues with slowdown ( even if this requires you to put the computer in an awkward place in the house for the time being, at least you can tell them what is happening with confidence ).

Go at this like you would if you brought your car in for service. Tell them the circumstances/reactions to actions/time of day/ personal observations when you talk to them. I do this for anyone I see, whether it's my doctor, dentist, mechanic, financial planner. If I have a problem, I do my best to self diagnose to give the expert all the info they need to make an informed decision. If you just say " It don't werk", the person on the other side of the counter will just give you a blank look and think to themselves " and what do you expect me to do about it? I'm not psychic y'know!" and then proceed to lay out the company line.

Thxs 4 ur concern. i will go ask them 2moro. besides the connection is up 24/7. but this probs seem to happen when i start downloading. i dunno. cld it be the cat5 wire/bridge/or computer.

P/S i can't connect direct. cause the bridge has 4-port eternet built-in. so it has a wire from the antenna. then 2 my comp and my neighbours tru the eternet ports.
