biostar m7viz (km400) probs

exchanged through newegg because it had some reseting errors. now with this new board, when i try to boot up, it either shows a blank screen, or the biostar splash screen and stays like that. both screens my monitor is getting power. i only made it to the bios once, and that was when i was pushing the del key like mad. now i can't get into the bios at all no matter what i do.

i tried running the mobo out the case, to see if it was shorting out. nope.

i booted bare bones, 1 stick mem, no HD, nothing in agp, pci, no FDD, still stuck at splash screen.

i swapped out the PSU, and cpu from my main PC, still no go.
i cleared my cmos, waited a minute, then put jumper back to OG position, nope. my kingston valueram ddr 333 512MB works fine in another system.

i just got this damn mobo today fedex, when i did a RMA exchange.
any suggestions??
hopefully newegg will give me refund even though the original mobo i bought was like a month ago. if not im gonna punt this board outside.

i had via chipsets before now no prob, i think biostar is just no good.

I just put this mobo in my dad's PC a month or two ago, and his has been running fine. Did you try replacing the battery?

Try booting baree bones with a HDD.

I've got a Biostar M7VKG that I love and is very reliable. BUT I had to RMA 2 of them from Newegg before I got one that would run. The 1st wouldn't go into the bios setup, no matter what. The 2nd would go into the bios setup and then when I pushed a key it would wait 10-20 seconds before responding. Sounds kind of similar to your problem. Good Luck!

sh!t, i think im gonna just ditch the biostar from now on. avoid it like the plague.

i did get a quick reply from biostar-usa he said

Try to set the jumpers of the drives, CDROM and Hard drives to CS(cable
select) instead of master/slave.

screw that, i don't like taking my mem our and in all the time, its already showing wear marks on the gold contacts. =(
rma time.
