wierd little pixels!

I just got a radeon 9700 and after installing it into my pc i have noticed little purple pixels filling up white letter and occasional 2 second freezes. Has anybody had this kind of problem?

Would ramping up the voltage on the AGP bus to 1.6 volts do anything to quash this problem?

Thanks a bunch

Andy

PLUS in battlefield 1942 demo it comes up with lots of pixels of usually sandy colour on 16 bit and a light green on 32 bit colour?!?

Tried updating the drivers - cos the ones bundled with the card may not be completely up to date??

I have a 9500 and have no problems running any games...

Also if your system is overclocked and/or too hot, this can also have some effect of gfx quality

Thanks, i think it may be a heating problem because it only comes up after a few minuetes of gaming. Ill change the position of one of my case fans and see if that does the trick.

As for overclocking/overheating.. if the fan placement doesnt do the trick, then see if underclocking makes the 'dots' vanish. I have used the RadClocker program to overclock my radeon.

Is the card manufactured by ATI, or by a 3rd party company?

Also, AGP voltage can be increased, but I don't think that will solve your problem (unless your AGP slot is underpowered).

My 9700 Pro tends to run pretty hot, but no troubles if I'm not overclocking.

I found the problem, basically, ANY asus board with ANY radeon card without a 400w power supply doesn't work. Which is a bit crap since this stuff has cost me about $260 bucks. I'm gonna get a new board and give the old one to me bro.

Thanks for helping out though.
