In KDE I clicked something, and now I dont' have any taskbars. I can't access any minimized apps since I can't see the taskbar. I can't find any options to get the taskbar back.... NO K menu either....NOTHING.... HELP!!!! Running drake 9.2

Not your root account right?

I'm sure there is a surgical way to get it back without destroying all your customizations, but I am going to give you the quick method:

As root, enter your /home/user-with-no-KDE-panel directory and delete the .kde directory and then go to the /tmp directory and delete all the entries for that same user, then when you log on as that user again KDE should be back to the defaults.

good luck

Are you sure you didnt hit the little "Hide Panel" arrow at the bottom right-hand corner?Look for a very small arrow pointing to where your Panel used to be and click on it.
If not,I second CMonster's suggestion.

I asked him that last night lynchmob. He's sure he didn't hide it.

lol. Sorry I couldn't help ya lost! I built a machine last night, and I was making sure it all worked before I handed it off to it's owner (and got paid ). Hopefully someone can help ya buddy. I haven't used KDE for ages (initial 3.0 release) so anything I might suggest probably won't apply these days...

ok, I restarted linux about 3 times, on none of the occasions did I get my KDE taskbar back until a about 4th time.....YAY!!!! If I couldn't get it back by then I'd probably do that "erase your /.kde folder" but then I'd lose my cool thematic settings so I'm glad I didn't have to go that route. Now, do any of you know where I canget that nice transparent quicklaunch bar for kde...like the one that's on OS X on the bottom middle with nice zooming in effect when you mouse over apps.
