Adobe Distiller?

My wife's about to send a magazine to a publisher that she has never used before. The publisher ONLY accepts files that have been converted the PDFs via Adobe Distiller. Is this the same as Acrobat (not reader, but Adobe Acrobat)? Does Distiller do the same thing as Acrobat?
Thanks
Dave

I believe distiller comes with the adobe Acrobat full (writer/reader).

What distiller does, it's the actuall creation of the pdf file...

PDFwriter and distiller seem to do the same thing. So yes, distiller does the same thing as acrobat.

But, if you have adobe acrobat, you also have distiller, and I'd follow the publishers guides by running it through distiller
