Systems "Asp.net Machine A..." User Account

I've got a user account called "Asp.net Machine A..." that I just noticed today. Does anyone know what causes this? What's it for? Can I delete it?

Thanks!

ASP.NET mACHINE a... User Account

Don't remove or change this account. You or someone with access to your computer may have installed a language on it. When it was installed this User Account was also installed as part of the MS .Net Framework and is used to run .Net
It's run in a Limited account mode and is safe. Take care.

asp.net -- i need to delete

I need to remove this account if I want windows XP to start and go right into windows without having me click my name every time to log on, right? If so, what damage will it do to delete asp.net and if not, how do I get around it?

Thanks in advance for any help!

aspnet

About the ASP.NET Machine Account, check out this web site for more information. You are, of course, always free to believe what you wish.

http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/WindowsXP/aspdot.php

They explain it's use very well here and appear to know more about it that I do.

It's been around for a long time. If it were a problem, don't you think one of the virus checkers, (like McAfee or Norton), or spy bot checkers would have identified it as a problem?
