Hi all, I'm new here in TechIMO... very nice traffic in these forums.
I'm about to get a new lappy, but after doing some research on the web, I can't make my mind about something; any opinion will be really appreciated.
I'm thinking of buying a true thin-and-light notebook with a Pentium M processor. I'll use it mainly for word processing, but also for watching DVDs, listening to MP3s and some lightweight gaming (no mobile FPSs for me). I'll carry it with me most of the time, so my priorities are weight, size and battery performance. I don't exactly need raw power.
Fujitsu's Lifebook S6120, with its 13.3" screen, wireless and Pentium M seems to be more or less what I'm looking for (4.4 lbs). But I have seen some complaints about fan noise and heat problems; does anyone know if these are issues only to do with the AMD version of the S series, or with the whole series? Or maybe it's not that much of a problem at all? Also, some say keyboards on the series aren't much good and flex in places - anyone had any experience with them? That'd be really frustrating, as I may have to do hours of word processing on it.
If not the S6120, I'm thinking of an IBM Thinkpad T40 (which is a bit bigger and heavier). My only concern about the T40 is the LCD viewing angle, which some say is narrow. Do you know if this is as much of an issue to be bothersome while viewing DVD's - I wouldn't want to get a stiff neck out of this deal
Thanks a lot...
