Thinkpad T22 Laptop & USB

I am running an IBM T22 laptop with XP on it. I am trying to use a DLink USB webcam. The camera works, but it flashes on and off, it hangs, then it starts flashing again. I have reloaded the the drivers and the operating system. I have also tested the Camera on another XP machine (non laptop) and it works fine. I am using the USB on the laptop, not the docking station, and the laptop is plugged in. Any thoughts would be appreciated

any chance you can get your hands on a serial to usb adapter and try that on your rs232 port? i have the t22 and never had a problem with the usb port for any of my add ons but I don't have a usb web cam.....
