I.E. quit working - puzzling

Suddenly I.E. won't display any web pages on my 13 year old's computer. God knows what he may have downloaded.

Mozilla works. Outlook Express works. I.E. won't display anything.

Ran Adaware, Spybot, and NAV - nothing shows up.

Checked connection settings and they are identical to my other systems which still can open I.E. sites. Can't even get get to Windows Update - seems it wants to use I.E. to connect.

Uninstalled I.E. and re-installed still no joy.

At a loss here.

Maybe a registry setting change that prevents everything from opening?

2K repair?

Bill

Did you try re-installing TCP\IP?

No, I ruled that out as the other programs that access the net still work.

is the computer connected to a cable router? I had a similar problem but only some sites would not come up, I set the router back to default settings and it worked

It's on a Linksys router.

All of the other 3 systems work.

Maybe I should unplug and re-boot.

I'll give it a try.

It was "new.net." After a spybot delete earlier the program was a little upset about the removal and retaliated by terminating IE.

This site fixed it.

LSP-Fix

Thought I'd let you know.
