A simple SQL database?

Well, sort of simple.

I was wondering if it would be possible for a complete newb (at databases) to setup a simple database of slides.

Basically it would be a list of the slide's number indexed to keywords entered for that slide. A thumbnail preview attached somehow would be nice but optional.

An example would be like

slide #: 123
keywords: professor lab teaching forestry bear attack

Then you could just say... search a couple keywords and get all slides where a professor was attacked by a bear?

I've never done a database in my life, how hard is it, and is there a good howto or something for this?

Sam

Frontend for SQL. Similar to Access being a frontend to Jet. Recently released under the GPL. Gonna try it out myself when I get a chance.

Hmm... so far no good with that totalrekall deal, it'll install but I can't get it to recognize any db drivers (ie-> it lists sql as availible, but trying to make a new sql db pops up an error window saying it wasn't found).

I'm going to try and install the sql stuff that comes with rh10 and try again.

Any other suggestions?

Sam
