Audio cuts out on startup

Hi , i am building a new P4 with ASUS MB and 512 M Ram which i want to use for audio recording. I just got it fired up not long ago and when i enabled the onboard audiocard (not that i am going to keep this for long) but noticed that it cuts in and out when the startup audio wav in Windows plays on boot up. It doesnt seem to happen once Windows has finished its startup.

Any tips on what to check would be appreciated could it be in the BIOS and interupt clash??. Thanks

Try reducing the amount of services, apps, tray icons, etc, set to load at Windows startup... the OS and other things are trying to load at the same time the OS is trying to play that sound so it's getting bogged down, looks like.

Hmm I'm sure there was another thread on this fairly recently...

Basically yeh, its just cuz there is so much running & opening @ startup the system just gets abit bogged down...

I'd suggest running bootvis (available from www.microsoft.com) & optimising the startup... That usually helps it out for me, plus it makes bootup abit quicker all round.
