Kids Frustrated with XP task bar

I need help. Just the other day I installed the XP upgrade. I have no problems with it other than my task bar/start menu is gone. I can't find it anywhere. Does anybody have any ideas as to how Ii may find it?

Dave

Is it possible that it's set on "Auto-hide taskbar"?

Could be, but I don't know how to even turn off 'auto-hide.' I'm quite new at using computers. Wanna help me out? In fact, my thread should read 'frustrated with computers'

Thanks

The Task bar isn't in 'auto-hide.' It is completely gone.

There's a script that may help. You can find it at: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
number 99
This will set the taskbar back to windows default.

Just downloaded that script from the Web site, but to no avail. Even rebooted, but still nothing. Any other suggestions? It's really strange...it was there the other day, now it's completely gone.....or at least I can't find.

Perhaps you dragged it down to the bottom of the screen? If you drag your mouse to the very bottom of the screen, where the point of the mouse would be on the very bottom edge of the screen, do you get a little arrow pointing up? If so, click and hold the left mouse button and move the mouse upwards...
