Slow Framerates with 9800?!?!?

Ok Here is my Systems

Thermaltake 480w PS
Abit IS7
Intel Pentium IV 2.4GHz 800 FSB
WD 120GB
Radeon 9800 128 MB (Non-Pro)
256 MB Kingston PC2100 DDR

I am getting very low framerates with this card.
I know i may not have alot of memory and it may be slow.... but regardless, my framerates still get bogged down really low much more often and much slower than they should..... even considering my RAM conditions...

Its worst when playing Halo, Freelancer, and especially Battlefield 1942..... Its horrible.

Whats wrong?????
HELP!!!!!!!!!

Do you have antialiasing or anisotropic filtering enabled? These can make for a massive performance hit at high resolutions.

I usually run at 1024 x 768
I turned off both antialiasing and anisotropic and it still slows down considerably..... Still, even with it on, it slows down much more than i think it should

Send a message via AIM to XxCowOfChaosxX
What do you consider as "low"? 10fps? 10,000 fps?

Much less than 10 fps...... more like 5.... It just chugs along really slow until the load gets lighter again....... could it possibly be the memory?

It could be if you have XP as a OS. Can use alot of ram. I would try adding another stick of ram. More ram never hurts. Of course if you can afford it.
