Gigabyte KT600 K7 Triton 400 FSB Motherboard

anyone have any answers to why the gigabyte board runs so hot......
have an athlon xp 2500 with stock heatsink and fan..
running a fan to to blow out back of case and another fan on side of case blowing onto pc cards...

running temps of 45 degrees cpu 23 system stock
49 degrees cpu 28 system overclocked to 2.15

why so hot?? thanks

I wouldn't consider that "hot".

Are you running w/ the sides on your case? Do you have an intake fan at the front? Having at least one fan in the front is going to offer better air flow than having just the back and sides.

I dont know about your board, I have the gigabyte 7n400 Pro, nvidia chipset, it reads cpu temp from the cpu die, and if you look at gigabyte forums, you will see that it is a common question.

Giga f.a.q's state that reported temps will be approx 10-15* higher than normal

That's not hot at all with the stock air cooling on the 2500+, and overclocked to boot!
