At 1:1, the fastest FSB for PC4000 is 250. For PC4200 it's 266.5. I selected PC4000 and will run it 5:4 if I can exceed 250. 5:4 yields 240 at 300.

Komusa has a 2x256 kit with CL=2.5 available at www.pricewatch.com for $100. OCZ and GeIL also are excellent choices. Corsair is excellent but might not be CL=2.5 Check the RAM reviews at www.anandtech.com/memory/index.html .

Hi

well I know they are 500/2 and 533/2 and thats why Im concerned, I wonder how high they will climb (I plan to OC the ram along with the CPU) because Id really like to keep the ram 1:1 with the cpu

Thanks
Dan

Assuming the mobo allows bumping the RAM voltage, the same things apply ... better heat removal will be required and the results will be determined by experimenting. Remember, make only one change at a time. Otherwise you won't know what helped or hindered.

No matter what, the better the base line specs of the RAM, the faster it will go.

ok, since I have quite some experience on OC, first, U need to tell us that what ur computer components gonna be, like
1) which cpu gonna go with ur new computer,
2) which chipset is ur mobo gonna be ( mother board ),
3) How powerful is ur power supply.

the cpu is the most important thing that u have to decide b4 u can get the ram, I personally preferr Coarsair xms series, let's say if u have a p4 2.4c which is 800Mhz fsb, then u willl need to choose xms 4000 series, and if u buy a p4 3.0c, then u will buy a xms 3500c2 or 3200LL, those rams are the best to go for OC.

Seriously, for me, P4 2.4c with 2 sticks of coarsair xms-t1024winx-4000pt will be the best combo and u can never go wrong with that , if U get a Asus P4P800 to go with it , u can infact OC to about 3.5GHz with ur 2.4c I've done it and highly recommand it.

P.S go take a look at the new shuttle computer (SB75G2), its a bit more expensive than other computers in the market, but the size and the performance to OC will surely amaze u, since I am using one here is the link to that system http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...tby=14&order=1
wish u luck

I totally agree with the above post

I am running the p4-2.4C and the p4p800 delux, and it is solid as a rock at 3.1 gig with kingston hyperx 3500, and cool too

HOLY CRAP!! That's.....a...huge....OC....

In regards to the topic, , Either Corsair XMS or Mushkin. The latter can get hella expensive, but some people prefer it.

Fox - 3.1 is normal for a 2.4, I plan to get to 3.5-3.6 on the same 2.4c

Hi

2.4C on a P4C800
but this was a general question, I mean the same ram should overclock the same on any motherboard IMO

see me know that since the 3.2 wont overclock much and the fsb will stay low - tighter timings is the way to go
while when the fsb is close to crazy I believe high speed ram is the way to go
and I was mostly wondering about how high will a good brand pc4000 module climb

Thanks
Dan
