[SIZE=3][FONT=arial][COLOR=tomato]I have 2 Toshiba Notebooks that need surgery .... Managed to eliminate the BIOS password in one. Now I can't load Windows...... all I'm getting is the message : If you have HPFS or NTFS installed on hard drive you will need to create MS-DOS Boot partition. In BIOS it states Hard Disk Mode= Not Used.... Does this mean the hard drive is locked ?? Helpppp , LOL

Hmmm... What version of Windows are you trying to load? And are you trying to load from a CD or floppies?

Windows 98 from CD .... when I tried to load I got the message " Your computer does not have a hard disk. Your hard disk is not functioning properly or your hard disk requires a special device driver???

Hmm , maybe I should check the connections from HDD to the interface card. Maybe the data cable isn't making contact???

the hard drive is formated with ntfs file system and windows 98 cannot read it.

boot with partition magic and do what ever you want

My fiancee put his Nortons rescue disk, thinking it was ok to use the disk even though it was created for his own computer ( Desktop )..... , now when I boot my computer. It's not detecting my hard drive. Tried to FDISK /status and it says no fixed disk present. When I went into BIOS , in Peripheral it says Hard Disk Mode= Not Used , Drives I/O HDD= No Drive There is no option to change this .... can it be fixed ??
