Ti4200 weird pixels in game videos
This has taken about a year for me to get annoyed enough to ask for some advice on this. In certain games, most notably Warcraft III and Neverwinter nights (the opening movie) and only during the FMV's the pixels are abnormally large thus causing the image to be blurred and fuzzy. This is hard to describe because I am not really up and up on all the 3D lingo, so bear with me. I think it is the pixels because they are square and it looks like if I was viewing the image with an image app and had zoomed in. Know how the picture becomes blurry when you do that, but you can still recognize the general features? Well that's what my in game videos look like. This blurriness only happens during motion only. When something in the movie stops or is stationary like the background there is no blurriness. During normal game play it works fine. I can set most of the video options all the way up (except for resolution-most of the time at 800x600) and there is no slowing in the fps and it looks great. I also use the card for DVD's and there are no problems there. Since I am like totally ignorant of these things, maybe I can adjust some settings on my drivers to make it clearer. I am hoping someone knows what are the best settings, I am hoping it's not a hardware thing. Or maybe the card just isn't good enough to handle these videos. It doesn't do this in all games, just mostly the ones I noted above. Right now the driver settings are set for 1024x768 32 bit desktop resolution, 75hz monitor, Image quality is set to the best setting, and antialiasing and ansio is set to app controlled. My card is specifically a 8x AGP 128MB Geforce 4 4200Ti. My CPU is a pent 4 1.8Ghz and I have 512 MB RAM. I also have installed and reinstalled many drivers to troubleshoot this and I have installed and uninstalled different optimizers to see if they do anything. Right now I have atuner (current version). Any suggestions out there?
